Lois' SPEDFolio: Conclusion

I hope that you find my SPEDFolio a wealth of information that can be useful to you. For me and other educators, Special Education is a new frontier but the apprehension and lack of knowledge should not stand in the way of learning for the student with disabilities. It doesn’t mean that we have to be an expert in this field, but more so to be aware that it does exist. We need to know how to begin the process, who to turn to for advice, and how to initiate the assistive technology evaluation. We as educators need to stand up and become advocates for students who are eligible for assistive technology in their classrooms otherwise the Law is just another document on another piece of paper.
